Steve Austin: Let Vince Work
As outspoken during his regular guest articles in the pages of FSM as he was during his storied pro wrestling career, Steve Austin truly is one of a kind. The biggest draw in the history of the business, Austin recently checked in to talk Vince McMahon; giving details on what it was like to feud with his boss, how Vince is away from the cameras and more.
Working an intense streetfight with CM Punk recently on Raw, McMahon's brutal brawl with the WWE Champion caused some discomfort amongst a section of the fanbase, due to his age and the match coming off the back of the younger Jerry Lawler suffering a heart attack live on air. As Austin explains, this is very much in McMahon's character and fans have little to panic about.
“At 67 years of age, there may be a few people wondering why Vince keeps putting himself out there in harm's way, like when he brawled with CM Punk recently on Raw. Personally, I don't think he relies on himself too much – that's just the kind of person he is. I've heard people say that guys of a certain age need to get out of the ring, get off the football field, or whatever, but I would never place any limitations on Vince. He's one of the smartest cats I've ever met, and he knows what he's doing. Simply put, he loves the business so much; it's his entire life, and he's a workaholic.”
“Just let him have his fun, 'cause Vince McMahon's gonna be just fine. Let him perform, and let him work, because there's nothing he loves to do more than that”.
