Just to illustrate how utterly incapable Vince McMahon and the WWE braintrust are when it comes to letting go of the past, next year’s Survivor Series will emanate from Montreal, Quebec Canada in a bizarre ten-year anniversary of wrestling’s most infamous incident. Yes, as if raping wrestling’s most overused finish for the thousandth or so time at Saturday Night’s Main Event wasn’t enough, the 2007 Survivor Series will take place at Montreal’s Bell Centre – the venue formerly known as the Molson Centre that hosted the 1997 Survivor Series and the Montreal screwjob. You have to wonder whether Vince chose to book the venue in his continuing effort to lure Bret into one last angle for the company, or whether he picked it specifically to piss him off knowing that he would never agree to be involved. You also have to wonder which poor sap is going to be on the receiving end of the inevitable screwjob finish, and whether third-generation Hart family member Harry Smith is already planning his sick note for November 25 2007…
