Magnus: UK Is Hottest Pro Wrestling Market

The brutal hammer attack focused on the knees by the Aces & Eights stable on the November 15 episode of Impact Wrestling was the perfect chance to write Nick 'Magnus' Aldis out of storylines, at least temporarily.

With rehearsals for a one-month run (December 18 2012 to January 19 2013) of performances for the popular 'Aladdin' pantomime, a Magnus sabbatical from TNA programming was necessary as preparations for his role as the 'Genie of the Lamp' got underway.

Returning in time for the opening leg of the UK tour in Glasgow, Scotland on January 23, Magnus would later gain televised revenge on the faction who put him out of action, defeating Devon by disqualification in Manchester and standing tall in the ring.

Speaking during his regular guest column in Issue 90 of Fighting Spirit Magazine, Aldis stressed the importance of fans continuing to show high levels of enthusiasm, warning against becoming jaded and nonchalant like some audiences in the United States.

"The fact is that the UK market is the hottest market for pro wrestling right now", Aldis wrote. "Your support has made the media take notice, and made the possibilities increase for all of us. There were more celebrities and important media people at the (TNA) tapings in London and Manchester than ever before, and the best part about that is the fact that they witnessed us at our best, and you, the fans, at your absolute best; you were loud, you were red-hot from start to finish, and it's going to mean a lot going forward".

"I guess what I'm doing is not only thanking you for doing that, but also asking you not to become spoilt; please, don't become expectant and entitled, like many fans in the U.S. The main things the guys and girls in the locker-room comment on when we do the UK tour are the politeness and gratitude of the fans here. It's quid pro quo; keep being who you are, and we will keep rewarding you with our A-game. Deal?".
