WILDE THING
FSM talks to former TNA Knockout Taylor Wilde as she gets set for a Pro-Wrestling:EVE appearance at Wrestle-Fever
FSM: You've been out of wrestling for well over a year now. Have you kept up with everything that's been going on? Taylor Wilde: To be honest, I haven't. I try to stay in the loop, but it just seems to be a completely different world now. I think it was important for me to step away, because I was bitter in my own ways, and just wanted out of the business. Having said that, when I watch wrestling now, I'm able to enjoy it more as a fan, which is awesome.
You were most well-known for your TNA run, but you also worked in WWE developmental. With such quick success, did you feel thrown in at the deep end in TNA? Absolutely. To be a female newcomer to any TV show can be daunting, and I was given such a big part of the TNA show from the get-go. In some ways, I really do feel that was the best way to be initiated, because it was very much a case of sink or swim - and I'm pretty sure I swam. (laughs)
Awesome Kong, who you defeated for the Knockouts title, has a fearsome persona, but she's also very well thought-of by her peers. Oh, she's absolutely amazing. Her in-ring work is outstanding, and she's a great person. Women's wrestling hadn't seen someone like her in quite some time, and with just one look, she can grab the attention of the audience. I have nothing but respect for her, both in and out of the ring.
You also worked extensively with both Velvet Sky and Angelina Love, who teamed together as "The Beautiful People". But you had known Angelina from WWE developmental, too. Angelina and I go way back, actually - she trained at the same wrestling school. She's a good girl, and we've been through a lot together. Angelina has stuck the wrestling business out a lot longer than me; she loves this industry, and I can't think of wrestling without thinking of her. It'll be great to see her at Wrestle-Fever.
You've just mentioned the EVE show. What enticed you to come back and make an appearance at a wrestling show? Well, my favourite time to wrestle in TNA was when we did our UK tours. Although I won't be wrestling, I thought that it'd be a fantastic opportunity to appear on the EVE show, and be around the fans once again.
