AJ Styles: UK Fans Are Best On Planet
Having just completed a tour of the country, TNA's relationship with the UK is something the promotion have been able to champion over the past 5 years. Pulling big ratings on Freeview, due to their time slot on Challenge TV, TNA have a larger presence in the UK than in the United States.
Currently in the midst of a storyline where he is burnt out and on a losing streak, TNA original AJ Styles is on a leave of absence from TV; not appearing on any of the tour dates. This comes as a welcome break for Styles, as he has been on the go since the company were founded in 2002.
Speaking during a recent interview, AJ talked of his admiration for the UK fanbase, also throwing in that TNA going live has changed things for the better.
"The UK fans are some of the best in the world. I mean, the whole UK clique has the best wrestling fans in the world. I just love going over there. They're loud, they're obnoxious, exactly the kind of fans that we want. They want to watch the show rather than be a part of it which is, you know, exactly what any wrestler wants", Styles told the Ministry Of Slam radio show.
"Speaking for myself, TNA going live has changed things. It's changed the atmosphere, and it's changed the fans. They're live; they're on live TV. When the light comes on, they're on there too, so they're a little more excited, as we are. I think that's a big step in the right direction and it is only going to get better."
