SWA Bringing Top Import Stars To Scotland For Blockbuster Weekend

Bringing in import talent from the United States and Japan has become a regular occurrence on the UK scene. The benefits are there for all to see; local grapplers glean knowledge of working with those more experienced on a bigger stage, also getting the rub of working with top names.

On March 10, the Scottish Wrestling Alliance give two of their top young prospects that experience. Dickie Divers will square off with Kenny Omega, a veteran of the Japanese scene. 18-year old Lewis Girvan will also be given the exciting challenge of facing Chuck Taylor. Also on the card, the outspoken Nikki Storm will face April Davids, and Mikey Whiplash & Jack Jester will match-up with The Masked Avengers.

SWA promoter, Damian O'Connor is thrilled to be bringing in top talent to mix with his own top prospects.

"I'm absolutely delighted to have been able to bring Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor to Scotland. They are two utterly unique wrestlers", O'Connor stated. "Kenny is possibly the best independent wrestler in the world right now, truly on top of his game. I've followed his work in DDT, AJPW and more importantly NJPW. He has a phenomenal high flying ability, and his cracking sense of humour shines through in all his matches. He really enjoys what he does, and you can see it! Because of that, I think Dickie Divers will compliment him well. Divers is one of the best all rounders in Scotland, can fly, brawl, grapple, but is aching for a match of this quality to really break through onto a larger stage. I really think the two will have a phenomenal match, fitting of a main event anywhere on the independent scene".

"Chuck Taylor is a great talent, very innovative. His work in Evolve and CHIKARA really caught my eye, but he's been making massive waves lately, with a new gimmick and working hard on his physique. I think its only a matter of time before he makes an even bigger name for himself, which makes it perfect timing for this match with Lewis Girvan. Lewis is a prodigy. Just turned 18, with 5 years in the business and all the raw talent in the world. I'm really proud of him, and I know he'll use this opportunity to further enhance his growing reputation".

"I'm excited for both lads as a promoter, a trainer and a friend. They won't let me down, every audience member will have the time of their lives and I think Scotland will genuinely witness two wrestlers coming of age on March 10th".
