Goldberg Hits Back At WWE Star

Many have drawn comparisons between the current win-streak of Ryback in WWE and that of the one Bill Goldberg racked up in WCW. From a physical standpoint, both men have striking similarities, and the former is effectively a rehash of the Goldberg formula.

Speaking recently to WWE Magazine, Ryback said that while he could see these similarities between the pair, he feels he is "a better athlete and wrestler than Goldberg ever was, and people are going to see that over time". These comments have ruffled some feathers amongst the former pro American Football player, Goldberg and his fans.

Tweeting to followers on Sunday, "Better athlete? C'mon dude, wake up!", it appears Goldberg has not taken the remarks lightly. When a fan said, "Ryback is a better athlete than @Goldberg? I don't remember seeing Ryback play in the NFL. #ShowSomeRespect", the ex-wrestler replied, "Case closed!".

Having commented in the past that he was done with WWE and didn't feel the promotion knew how to handle his character, Goldberg remarked at the turn of the year that he would return to face Brock Lesnar if the former UFC Champion ever found his way back into the company. Of course, Lesnar is now once again under WWE-contract, so who knows what the future may hold.

With obvious marquee matches against the likes of Lesnar, John Cena and others, WWE could also elect to book Goldberg opposite Ryback following this verbal sparring. One thing is for sure, never say never in the pro wrestling industry.
