Gail Kim: Female Wrestlers Have It Tougher

Being a former WWE Women's and TNA Knockout Champion, Gail Kim knows what it takes to make it to the top of the pro wrestling industry. Widely regarded for her stunning matches with Awesome Kong (Kharma) in TNA, Kim is known as one of the best female wrestlers in North America.

Speaking with MLive.com, the multi-time champion talked of the need for real drive and determination when entering pro wrestling, feeling females especially need to show some grit. Known to speak her mind, claiming WWE neglected to use her skills properly during both stints with the promotion, Kim is not one to back down from her stance on the importance of women's wrestling.

"Oh my gosh, women have it so much harder than men. If you ask me the differences are professional as well as physical. They change their clothes and are ready in 10 minutes; we're spending hours on make-up and hair, only to get it all messed up in the first round. We have to look good,” the Toronto, Canada native said.

“When I came in the business, we learned it all on our own. Girls nowadays follow us, but they're still shocked when they come in. It's so much harder than they expect. But if the passion is there, it won't go away."
