Scott Steiner Files Lawsuit Against TNA
Upon leaving the promotion in March, Scott Steiner was highly vocal regarding his distaste for several TNA employees, most notably Hulk Hogan, Dixie Carter and Eric Bischoff. Being warned to stop and desist from his outbursts, Steiner nonetheless continued, which led to TNA filing a lawsuit against him for his remarks. Counter suing, the wrestler has claimed company negligence and the reckless actions of Jeff Hardy caused him to become injured, stating that Hardy worked "under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs" during a house show match in November 2011.
If true, these allegations could significantly hurt the case of Jeff Hardy, who is still on probation stemming from a charge for possession of steroids and other drugs in 2009. With the controversial situation at TNA's Pay-Per-View, Victory Road in March 2011 (in which Hardy, appearing to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs was sent out to compete in a match with Sting) also hanging over proceedings, another claim of him being drunk or otherwise would come as a blow to Hardy and TNA.
As if he needs any more legal strife at the moment, Terry Bollea's (Hulk Hogan's) name was also brought into the situation. Steiner is claiming Bollea was directly responsible for Hardy's actions, as well as the writing and approval of the match script. Nonetheless, Bollea is said to rarely be in attendance at TNA house shows, nevermind writing scripts of match finishes for non-televised events.
The lawsuit filed by Steiner states TNA, "Knew or should have known that their agent, employee, representative and/or servant was too incapacitated, and/or under the influence of a controlled substance and should not have been allowed to enter the ring, thus endangering the life, health, well being and safety of Scott Rechsteiner".
