TNA's Final Resolution was the organisation's concluding pay-per-view event of 2012, and as always, the wrestlers were looking to end the year on a high. The opening contest sees James Storm challenged by Frankie Kazarian, and despite the fact that it's a last-minute addition to the card, this is an entertaining beginning. Rob Van Dam's X-Division title is on the line as he faces Kenny King, who is a worthy opponent in what turns out to be a fair contest. The unlikely duo of Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan receive a shot at Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Hernandez' Tag Team titles in the third match, though this one is a dull showing that once again highlights that, after a career spanning 10 years, Hulk Hogan has a task on his hands to make Morgan into the star that his look suggests he should be.

Redressing the balance somewhat are two of TNA's finest, as Bully Ray and Austin Aries collide. Their feud here is based on the latter's revelation that Bully had become romantically involved with Brooke Hogan, which led to problems with a disapproving "Hulkster". The subsequent bout is very good indeed, and is only marred by a disappointing ending. Tara is then challenged for her Knockouts championship by Mickie James, and with both women having wrestled each other on dozens of occasions, it's no surprise that it is a highly competent 10-minute showcase.

Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco versus Devon, D.O.C and two masked members of Aces & Eights continues the war between TNA and the biker gang. The action is perfectly adequate, but with such a perceived hatred between the teams, it does feel like the wrestlers should have worked a more aggressive style to get the crowd more involved.

The penultimate match is another chapter in the long-standing feud between Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles, and is spoken of as the final time they will face each other. With the abhorrent Claire Lynch storyline over and the focus back on in-ring matters, both men put forth an amazing effort. It's a testament to their talent that despite their many meetings, they manage to make this encounter feel fresh.

The main event is a fantastic TNA World title match between champion Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode. At over 20 minutes in duration, it's made perfectly clear - as if it wasn't obvious before - why these men are regarded as two of the company's finest and most consistent workers.

A bonus disc featuring pre and post-match interviews offers little new, but certainly doesn't take away from a worthwhile feature.
